Plastimo 609S Jib Reefing System - Turnbuckle Mounting 58203
All moulded components are manufactured in Plastimo’s Lorient workshop, using high
pressure injection techniques. This engineering process gives the composite material
properties that are comparable to certain metals, while remaining totally impervious to
corrosion, therefore virtually maintenance free.
The s series of headsail gears are extremely easy to install and take down. It requires no
unstepping of the mast and no modification of the forestay, thanks to a patented design
which allows quick and easy installation directly on the tensioned forestay.
The inner PVC liner is clipped onto the forestay and the aluminium spar slides easily over the PVC liner.
The risk of tearing sails at junctions is therefore much reduced.
609 S : for boats from 6 to 9 m ~ 20 to 30 ft. The 609 S is fitted with twin ball bearing races alternating Delrin and stainless steel and stemhead brackets with adjustable width. Besides their stylish design, the drum cheeks swivel through 360° : by providing the best angle to the line, the drum cheeks prevent snagging and chafing.
Available in either Chainplates mounting or turnbuckle mounting.
If you have a bottle screw on your forestay, then choose the Turnbuckle version
Plastimo 609 Turnbuckle Option: for use with a rigging screw or to increase the drum height:
Distance from the underside of the drum to the end of the chainplate: 285mm
Number of holes: 11
Hole Diameter: 12.5mm
The distance is much greater on the turnbuckle version to allow access for adjustment of the rigging screw.
